Is MaruMori free? AKA what is the difference between trial, expired trial, and paid subscriptions?

Although a big chunk of MaruMori is accessible for free, to use the site to its fullest potential and unlock our main features, you'll need a subscription.

Not to worry though! You'll be able to try every feature and system on MM during your free trial. We want you to be sure this is the platform for you!

Free trial restrictions

Like I mentioned, there are no feature or system restrictions during your free trial, which lets you try out everything we have! The only restriction is exactly how much content you're able to go through.

On a free trial, you have access to:

  • b

The entirety of the pre-N5 (Isle of New Beginnings) island

  • b

The first 10 tiles of every other region

  • b

All study tools, minigames, and trainers

  • b

    Vocabulary and grammar SRS

  • b

    Our dictionary and grammar library

Additionally:

  • b

You may unlock one additional adventure tile per day in the N5, N4, N3, or N2 regions

This allows us to keep people on free trials from yoinking our content, while still allowing you to get a feel for how your daily studies might look on the site! (We generally recommend a pace of one grammar-lesson tile per day for most users!)

When your trial expires..

Even without a trial or subscription, you'll still have access to :

  • b

The entirety of the grammar library and dictionary

  • b

All study tools (conjugation trainer, verb transitivity trainer, kana trainer) except mock exams

  • b

The entirety of the introduction island

  • b

The first five tiles of each region
