What are MaruMori's SRS intervals?

Could I have the SRS deets?

Glad you asked! On the home page, you'll see a handy summary where all of your study items are sorted according to Beginner, Novice, Intermediate, Expert, and Master.

Beginner consists of four levels . An item being at level 1 means you've just finished its lesson. Getting it to level 2 means that you were able to recall it after an interval of 4 hours. Level 3 is an interval of 8 hours, and level 4 is one whole day (specifically 23 hours).

Novice has two levels . For the first (level 5), it's roughly 2 days (47 hours), and the second (level 6) is about 1 whole week (167 hours)!

Intermediate , as well as the rest of the SRS stages, is just one level (level 7) by itself and is an interval of 2 weeks (335 hours).

Expert (level 8) is an interval of 1 whole month (719 hours).

And finally, cue the boss battle music please,
Master (level 9) is an interval of a whopping 2,879 hours or 4 months. Yup. Four! 😶

What happens if I get a review wrong?

Well, every time you answer an item incorrectly, it moves down an SRS level or two to shorten the interval between reviews. After all, answering incorrectly most likely means you need to see it sooner and more often if you wanna master it!

For Beginner items (levels 1 - 4), it steps back by one SRS level, and for items that are Novice and above (levels 5+), it steps back by two SRS levels.

Can I tweak the intervals to better suit me?

As of the moment, there's no way of doing that. So sorry! 😥

We got a lot of exciting stuff for you here in MaruMori, and even more coming up (check our roadmap if you wanna take a peek!), but being able to personalize SRS intervals just isn't on the horizon yet.
